Gaylene has years of experience in ECE and is looking forward to sharing these at Jumpstart.
Her favorite activities are listening to music, creativity and spending time with her 3 girls. She is passionate about animals and sharing that interest with children. Even Gaylene's leisure time is often consumed with her teaching career. That's what we call motivation! |

Tene (kitchen manager)
Tene is the kitchen manager and aims to provide the children with a healthy mid day meal.
We are aiming for the Healthy Heart Foundation tick - which includes, among other goodies, three red meats, fish and chicken each week.
Tene has three children Molly 11, Burnie 9, and Seamus 7 so she knows what kids like and don't like.
If you have a few free minutes and want to watch your children playing through the one way window, move to the parents room and enjoy a latte with her. |

Petra
My name is Petra and I am a teacher in the mixed aged unit. I also spend some time in the under 2 unit each week.
I have recently completed my Bachelor of Teaching ECE and have been part of the Jump Start Team since the beginning of the year.
After growing up in Tauranga, I have moved to Cambridge with my partner and son, Hunter. Hunter attends the under 2 unit at Jump Start so I love being able to bring him to work with me each day.
I have been involved in teaching for the past 6 years and can’t imagine doing anything else. I have a strong passion for working with children and feel committed to their well being and learning.
Teaching offers a never ending path of knowledge and self-growth, I look forward to continuing on this journey with the families at Jump Start and new ones to come.
